James Pohl, DVM
Resident in Veterinary Ophthalmology
Dr. James Pohl grew up in Orange County, California and received his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley. After college, he stayed in the Bay Area where he worked as a veterinary assistant for a few years and worked at the Oakland Zoo and Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. He especially enjoyed working with farm animals. Dr. Pohl received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Western University of Health Sciences. After vet school, he completed a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at VCA Animal Specialty and Emergency Center in West Los Angeles. Dr. Pohl joined our residency program in 2022 and is excited to continue working in the Los Angeles Area. In his free time, he enjoys movies, yoga, and spending time with his two cats, Captain Jack, and Ms. Pickles.
